Red tipped scallions are an old Italian heirloom variety. These scallions come in bunches and have long green thin leaves that range from 12 to 15 inches in length. The lower bulb has a deep red to purple color at the base with small thin root extensions. The Red tipped scallion offers a typical scallion flavor that is somewhat sweeter than the conventional variety.
Red tipped scallions are available in the late winter and throughout the early spring and summer months.
