The Sakura Momo strawberries are large in size, and retain a bright red coloring throughout ripening. They boast a sweet aroma and the flesh is firm yet very juicy.
Sakura Momo strawberries are available in the winter through early spring.
Sakura Momo strawberry is only grown in the Sanagouchison Village in the Tokushima Prefecture of Japan. Within very strict growing guidelines only 8 strawberries are grown from one plant, in attempts to ensure that all the nutrients are concentrated into those berries. In order to be sold the berries must also pass certain criteria measurements of color, aroma, flavor, and flawless surface.
