Mustard MicroFlowers™ have four bright yellow petals attached to a central core and thin green stem. The central core contains one yellow pistill and four to six shorter yellow stamens.

Mustard MicroFlowers™ are a member of the Brassicaceae or Cruciferae family and of the species Brassica. Currently the seeds of the mustard flower are used mainly in the production of the condiment mustard and also to produce the seasoning, dry mustard powder.
Mustard MicroFlowers™ make an attractive addition to green and grain salads. Serve atop quiche, deviled eggs or frittatas as a garnish. The flowers can be pureed into a mustard sauce or hummus. Combine with herbs and add to the brine for pickled cucumbers, peppers and carrots.
Native to Europe, mustard flowers have been cultivated in Europe, Asia and North Africa for thousands of years. In the 1940’s mustard flower cultivation took off in America with Canada following close behind in the 1980’s. Mustard thrives in cool to moderate climates and in fertile well draining soil.
